Boudha is a stupa in Kathmandu, Nepal. It is about 11 km north-east of Kathmandu City centre in the northeastern outskirts of Kathmandu. The stupa's massive mandala makes it one of the largest spherical stupas in Nepal.
Boudha Stupa dominates the skyline of Boudha Kathmandu. It is one of the largest stupas in the world. The flow of large populations of refugees from Tibet into Nepal, particularly in Kathmandu has seen the construction of over 50 gompas (Tibetan convent) around Boudha.
In 1979 Boudha Stupa was decleared as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Boudha, along with Swayambhu is one of the popular tourist sites in Kathmandu.
